HELP How do I get a sock out of the sink?

redlips152003 asked:
A sock just when down our drain when we were cleaning litter boxes. This happened before and we didn’t know and we had a huge problem and had to call a plumber who charged us a whole lot of money. Is there any way we can get it out? Does draino work? If you have any helpful nice suggestions please help us! We will call a plumber if needed but want to see if we can DIY.
The sock went down our laundary sink and before the plumber went into our basement to get the sock. We ran the washer in the laundary room and the water backed up into the sink. I plungered the sink but no sock!

DIY Sunroom Building Explained

Sunroom prices vary greatly based on two things – the materials that you choose and how much it costs you in labor. When these expenses are combined the cost of your sunroom may seem quite exorbitant, but you will find that this cost is outweighed by the amount of satisfaction that you will get from the room. It also increases the value of your home, because you are adding square footage that many people look for and enjoy. Constructing a sunroom will cost much less than adding an addition to your home. It also takes much less time than building a traditional room onto the home as well.
One thing that you will want to be careful about is the materials, size, and features that you choose for your sunroom. If you do not plan, then you will find that the cost is much more than you expected. Planning and preparing by choosing the right style, design, and materials can help to increase your satisfaction level when you meet your budget. Make a budget for materials and labor and stick with it.
Estimates are not fixed, but there is normally an average price based on the size and style of the sunroom. Materials, size, drainage needs, location, ventilation needs, style, and more dictate the prices, so that is why it is important to include all of these components in your budgeting.
Building Your Sunroom
If you want to build a sunroom, but the labor costs are throwing you over budget, then you can consider building your sunroom yourself. The new building price can be dramatically decreased by using one of the many do-it-yourself sunroom kits. You will have complete control over the materials and design of your sunroom. These kits come in a variety of styles for you to choose from and then you add the features that you need and that fit you budget.
Where you live can have a big impact upon your sunroom as well. If you live in an area of weather extremes, then you will need to spend more money to help decrease the effect of temperature changes on your sunroom. You may also need to have a heating and cooling system installed and this can increase the price as well. Furnishings and accessories are also another expense, so you want to make sure that you choose all of the features and items wisely to help you stay on budget and increase your satisfaction level.

low-level toilet leaking from joint to waste pipe, even when bowl and cistern are empty. How to fix please?

The waste pipe is inserted at the back of the toilet into a waste pipe going to the sewage system. It’s been badly sealed in the first place and 1) I am NOT going back to that guy; 2) I have no money for a plumber, so it’s diy time. I cannot stop the leaking to make it dry for using silicone sealant. Someone suggested Denzo tape, but what is it in French?!? Cheap, clever help would be appreciated.

Ok I filed bankruptcy about 3 years ago, but at the time that didn’t prevent me from refinancing, though I probably could have gotten more money to refinance had I waited a few months longer. Anyhow I own like 50k on a mortage and want to relocate. I figure the best choice is to rent my home, but it still needs more repairs, like a new door, windows, steps etc. Are there any grants or programs I qualify for? Should I refinance again? I have enough debt as it , but I suppose if I’m putting it into the house and someone else is paying the rent then thats ok, but i dont want to hike up my rent much more. Would much prefer a grant or Government fixing program. i don’t want to get zapped with finance charges either. I’m a first year teacher if that helps.

DIY Sunrooms – Finding Out the Prices

While it used to be that you would probably hire a contractor if you wanted to add on a sunroom to your home, today things are a bit different. In fact, more and more people are beginning to build their own sunrooms by themselves with the help of some DIY kits that are out there today. There are a variety of different companies out there that provide these wonderful kits that can be easily shipped to your home so all you have to do is read the directions and start building. Of course anyone that is going to build a sunroom on their own should definitely be conscious of the price that it is going to cost. So, let’s take a look at the prices of these DIY sunrooms and how they can affect you.
Remember that Prices Will Vary
First of all, when you are considering building your own sunroom with one of the great kits that are available today, you will need to remember that the prices of these kits are going to vary. The price that you’ll have to pay will depend on your home, the size of the sunroom you want, the materials you choose, and whether or not you already have a site ready for the sunroom. So, there are no blanket prices on these sunrooms. Before you get started on this type of a project, it is usually best to sit down and figure out what you have to spend, what you want in a sunroom, and if you can get what you want for the money that you have to spend.
Choosing the Right Kit
Of course it is important that you choose the right kit for your sunroom as well. There are many companies offering these kits today and you will want to look them over carefully to make sure that you find the one that is best for you. Consider carefully the materials that come in the kit, the sizes of the kits, and of course the prices. Take the time to compare prices from several different companies so that you can be sure you get the best possible price on your sunrooms.
Get a Good Quote for the Kit
Although these companies do have standardized sunroom kits available, if you have a different size of a sunroom in mind, you can get a custom kit that will fit your needs. However, you’ll want to get a quote on this kit, since it will have to be specially made to your specifications. It’s a good idea to get a couple different quotes on the special kit that you want so you can get an excellent deal.
So, as you can see, there is no hard and fast price that you can expect to pay when you are going to build your own sunroom from a kit. However, one thing you do know is that you’ll definitely be saving money when you build your own sunroom, since having a contractor do the work for you can be very expensive.

What can I do with my kitchen countertops?

Tired Mom asked:
My laminate countertops are white and are stained from 40+ years of use. We just moved into this house less than a year ago, and we don’t have the money to get all new countertops. Is there anything we can do that would be easy/DIY to make the countertops looks nicer? I am looking for cheap and easy solutions to make our kitchen look better.
