What are some of the easiest DIY projects in automotive repair/maintenance?
I’m interested in learning how to take care of my car, in terms of maintenance and repair. What projects besides oil change, transmission fluid change, and air filter replacement are easy enough for a novice? Assume that I have rhino ramps, basic tools (ratchet set), and maybe a jack and jack stand. Thanks!

What are some cool DIY clothing projects?
I’m rather bored, and i thought that Reinventing some of my old clothing would be a fun way to pass the time. =D
I have a sewing machine, good quality fabric scissors etc.
I’ve already made a denim miniskirt out of an old pair Of jeans. Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance. (=
Lots of DIY projects, I just don’t know where to start?
I live in an older home that was partly remodled before I bought it. We have done some work to it already, we comletely gutted the kitchen and redid everything the drywall, cabnets, sink, appliances EVERYTHING! it still needs a few things done in there but not much. When we moved in and started preparing to move in we noticed how dirty the place was, it looked like the house had never been clean! the people who rented it before we bought it were just gross! We are on a limited income but we would like to save a little money and do a project or two and then save a little more and do alittle more instead of doing it all at once. We also have recently decided that we want to move to Texas (we are currently in California), we have a 2 year plan to work twords moving there and so we want to fix things that will make the most difference in the visual appeal of the house and also things which will raise the house value.
This is my list, where should I start?!?!?
1. build cute fence in front yard.
2. landscape and grass front yard and back
3. new flooring whole house (except kitch it’s already done) The carpet is discusting, we have been wanting to redo it for the past 2 years and there is carpet in the dinning room which I ****! If we do the floor we are going to do cheap but decent carpet and spent the money to put hardwood in the dinning room and maybe our bedroom.
4. Finish Kitchen – install dishwasher (which we have we just have to hire someone to install), take down and replace windo trim, we have one wall the was damaged from this vinal crap they had on the wall and instead of replacing the dry wall we want to instal beadboard, replace back door (it’s just gross, we might try and paint it b4 we replace it), install some sort of backsplash.
5. paint bathroom (the paint is newer but because the wall is very textured and it was so dirty it just never seems to look clean to me)
6. replace bathroom floor (it’s new vinal flooring but because the previous residence didn’t take care of and grout arount the tub it is lifting from minor water damage).
7. redo laundry room, painting, shelves that sort of thing.
8. build closet in our room (it has no closet)
9. build closet in my sons room, he has a small closet but we want to build him a large closet in his room and change the opening to the small closet so it opens from the hall so we can have a linin closet which we don’t have.
10. install some nice floor to cieling cabnets in the dinning room for storage since we have a HUGE storage problem.
So where would you start? what would make it look like a nicer house? and what would raise the value the most? I know our house is already worth more then what we paid and thats without taking into consideration the new kitchen and the new deck we built in the front of the house. I want to do the things that will make our house more comfortable while we are here but I don’t want to spend alot of money on things that won’t really effect it’s value either.
Thanks!
