I’d like to install a ceiling heater safe for bathrooms. Do you have any experience on this please?
July 2nd, 2009 | by The Builder |I need it so that a baby is warm and safe to take a bath in the winter. I tried the heating tube ones and the oil-filled one. But they are both not safe to be used in a bathroom. In hotels, they have something on the ceiling which looks like a light but is really a heater. I looked for it at DIY stores but they don’t carry them. Please help if you really know something about this. Thanks.

You are talking about a heat lamp. I have one in the MBR. It comes together with a fan unit. You can definitely DIY if you have access to the attic area above the bathroom.

how about one of those infra-red heat bulbs used to keep baby chickens warm? of course they get hot, so check the fixture’s wattage limit so you can match a bulb to it. I have also seen the type of “heater” that you mentioned hotels have at some home improvement stores such as home depot,Lowe’s, and Ace hardware. do you have a large feed store nearby? they would have the infra-red bulb that I mentioned. You could also ask the motel’s maintenance technician for the brand name of the bulb and you could surf for it. happy hunting!
