Its an Idea….Not a bad idea at all. And it does work. Doesn’t mean its a “Dumb idea” All because you guys didn’t think of it.
Really stupid idea. You still needing a cool water source. Investigate about desiccant-humidifier systems.
That’s a pretty dumb idea. Well engineered, but dumb. It’s because this setup takes far more power to run than a air conditioner, comparing setups with the same frigorific effect. So, you save on the hardware and pay in electricity bill.
not for the copper tubes and pump
not if you put it in a glass or plastic bowl and just put it in front of the fan
but honestly i think you other humans need to **** it up and deal with the heat and cold
liquid nitrogen would evaporate.. I don’t think the styrofoam bucket could hold it ..it would turn brittle and shatter
how can water get harder ?? lol.. the only time I know of that water gets harder is if it freezes or u put minerals in it to make “hard water”
liquid nitrogyn
@Nat25251
Dear N.,
That is the same thing as is said in polluting countries.
.
It is China’s problem their local sites are polluted.
.
Read more books.

Cheers.

i never said the water will get harder…
how the **** does the water get harder. i dont understant. your just making the water a little cooler by running the copper tubing through one side of the freezer and out the other. and into a bucket of water with the fish pump connected and the other end goes into the freezer thats connected to the fish pump. but all the acess tubing is rapped around the fan.
ice+salt+water would be better.
if the freezer is in the same room wouldnt it just take the heat out of the water and then release it at the back? so the room gets hotter
why woult the room get hot again. your running the tubing through the freezer going in one side and out the other. and cooling the water off a bit more. but youd have to have the fish pump running the whole time or the water will freeze in the tubing. or poor a little antifreeze in and test the water with a antifreeze tester.
but wouldnt the freezer just make the room hot again?
does this really work.
I will try this next summer!!
well if you really want to do it redneck style get a bigger box fan and more copper tubing. drill one whole in one side of your freezer and another on the other side and have the tubing run through the freezer. seal up the holes. and the water will get cooled of alot more thus a lot cooler room.
kewllllll dude
so all you have to do is buy the ice from the local shop so the heat from the fridge is there problem.
crazy, so troublesome! =X
…or you can just put a bowl of ice in front of the fan.
is it less energy inefficient than an actual a/c? I don’t know, but I was thinking that was part of the point, idk…enlighten me.
clever science fair project…
I’m pretty sure the author understands that this is merely a personal cooling device, not something to keep your house cold (bc, as someone said, the heat you fridge gives off to produce the ice is greater than the cooling effect you can obtain from the ice (energy in < energy out ALWAYS, so the heat removed from the water to make it ice and the fridge pump energy is the heat added to the environment to make the ice))
just turn the air down
