DIY changing taps (faucets) and tap handles? Is it possible to do it yourself?

I want to change the taps and tap handles in my kitchen and in my bathroom to nicer more modern ones. Is it possible to this myself with my boyfriends help, or would it be wise for us to get a plumber to do it.
I am happy to attempt it, as long as it is not a hugely high level of difficulty. Our place is only about 10 years old if that makes any difference to the type of plumbing and taps we have.

Changing out the taps was one of my first DIY projects as a new homeowner. Yes, doable, but it would depend on a few things, such as if the replacement taps fit the same holes in the sink.
Just be sure to get good instructions from the place where you buy it, and back it up with a good book. Make sure you have the right tools, the most important one being a plumber’s pliers/wrench.

It looks fairly simple, and he says it will take you about an hour to install.
Its very simple especially on a newer house because the rust on the hold down nuts won’t be so rusty as in a 20 or 30yr old fixture.Its usually the 2nd repair most people attempt in plumbing.The first being leaks.One thing though when you go to loosen the tube/hold down nuts wear goggles or glasses because there will be rust falling down while you are looking up and it burns the eyes.
Yes it is quite simple as long if you have the right tools and a bit of common sense.
Tools you require are Multy grips , Large shifting spanner, plumbers tape and tube of Silicon and a couple of screwdrivers.
And most important turn off the main supply then turn on the lowest tap in the house? yard to release the pressure of existing water that has remained in the pipes.Then and only then tackle the job taking care of what goes where and when when dismantling so you know what order to reinstate ( the new taps will come with installation instructions )
The only difference in installation between taps is whether you use washers or the new half turn Vitreous China valves.

just make sure you use the plumbers tape without scimpjng.
most tap fittings are the same size. make sure you turn the water off first. most new taps come with instructions on fitting.
